The Victorian Cancer Biobank is proud to announce the publication of a new white paper titled "Advancing the Impact of Biobanking Infrastructure through a National Approach", developed in partnership with leaders from the Australian biobanking community and BBMRI-ERIC.

This white paper presents key insights from the landmark panel session held on 26 November 2024, bringing together BBMRI-ERIC and Australian biobanking stakeholders to explore opportunities for greater collaboration, standardisation, and sustainability within Australia’s diverse biobanking landscape.

📄 Highlights include:

  • Lessons from the BBMRI-ERIC European biobanking model

  • Current strengths and challenges in the Australian biobank ecosystem

  • Strategic recommendations for national coordination, digital integration, and sustainable funding

  • Opportunities for international collaboration and policy alignment

📝 Read the full white paper to learn how Australia can enhance its biobanking infrastructure and improve health research outcomes nationwide.
