The VCB consortium brings together the expertise and resources of five major tissue banks in Melbourne, which specialise in participant recruitment, specimen collection and processing, and clinical data entry.
This consortium model empowers us to best serve the research community with a vast repository of invaluable biospecimens and clinical data. Our network comprises of five tissue banks sites nestled within a network of 26 hospitals across Victoria. While not all of these hospitals are consortium members, they expand our reach and capabilities to respond swiftly to requests for tailored prospective collections and ensures that we can provide crucial biobanking support for cutting-edge clinical trials.
Led by Cancer Council Victoria, the VCB consortium is comprised of Austin Health, Eastern Health, Melbourne Health, Monash Health, and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. As the lead agency, Cancer Council Victoria is responsible for project management, business development, quality assurance and data management.
