New VCB Product Schedule and transparent Service Model
To all VCB clients,
The Victorian Cancer Biobank has over the years been adapting our biospecimen products and services to facilitate rapid technological advancements in Cancer Research. The demands for biospecimens in Cancer have evolved from simple banked specimens with associated diagnosis data to a wide range of highly specific biobanking requirements, such as prospective customised procurement, complicated selection criteria, clinical trial support etc.
To continue providing the best service possible to support the research and development community, we are transitioning to a new service model, which will be introduced gradually in the upcoming months:
- New Product Schedule;
- Update of Processes for establishing a VCB project of your requirements with us;
- Website Redevelopment;
- Introduction of New Agreement Template including Material Transfer and Service provision.
New Product Schedule
We are pleased to announce the release of our new Product Schedule. The new schedule aims to provide a comprehensive list of products and services clearly outlining the scope of each service. This will make finding the right service for you easier and faster.

As Prospective Biobanking Services are highly bespoke, please reach out to our Project Team (VCBEnquiries@cancervic.org.au) to discuss feasibility and costing.
Some of the features in our new Product Schedule are:
- New and Clear pricing with clear scope or description for standard archival products and biospecimen services which has been inflation adjusted;
- Discounted Partner rate (e.g. Consortium members);
- Introduction of Project Management fee for complicated projects;
- Data bundle discount.
What does this mean for you?
The new Product Schedule will be introduced for any new projects, except those with a valid existing quote.
Existing projects will continue under their current agreements without disruption. We will progressively review these existing agreements and will reach out individually to address the needs of the projects and determine whether any changes are necessary and assist with any possible transition.
Feel free to reach out to us through VCBEnquiries@cancervic.org.au if you have any questions. We thank you for your understanding and patience during this transition period.
