VCB achieves CTRNet international biobanking certification
We are proud to announce that VCB was recently granted the international biobanking certification by the Canadian Tissue Repository Network on November 12, 2020. This was a coordinated effort from the VCB team across 6 sites, led by our Quality Manager Samantha Higgins. All VCB staff successfully completed biobanking best practice education modules and essential biobank processes/documents have been aligned towards international best practice standards. To learn more about our journey in achieving this certification and what this means for the VCB, please check out the interview with our Quality Manager
The University of Melbourne Innovation Practice Program (IPP) provides insights to biobanking challenges
It has been an excellent opportunity for VCB to participate in the Innovation Practice Program (IPP) with the Melbourne School of Engineering at the University of Melbourne. Our Project Manager Dr Gavin Higgins mentored a team of Masters students to work on an innovation solution for a business challenge facing the VCB. Thank you Dr Peter Cebon for leading this program and the students (Lingzhi Cao, Qiuyan Fu, Sii Kim Lau, Sithira Jayasinghe, Shumin Yu, and Yasmin O’Brien) for their contribution to the VCB.
